Well, heading towards fall, so you know what that means...
SURGERY! Whee! Oh well. At least it's under General, and the followup is on Chris Carter's birthday, so it can't be THAT bad.

*shrug*

Welcome to the official week of Not Getting A Hell Of A Lot Done.

With any luck, the drugs will kick in and I will move faster than light. Soon.

Time to go attempt to actually accomplish something on my To Do list. Ta!

Ahhh, what an enjoyable weekend! Belnick and I had a fabulous time visiting Q & C in Milwaukee, an historic occasion for many reasons, not the least of which being the first time we've ever stayed with friends in Milwaukee who live in a beautiful place in a nice neighborhood, and not cluttered or furnished in CollegeChic®. (That's an offhanded compliment, guys, you've got a fabulous place to call home :). I got to understand a little of what Cooper Black has been going through, drink coffee in a speakeasy, and go nuts at an exceptionally entertaining Type O show.

While watching Peter Steele up on stage, I realized that Belnick is pretty similar, in genetic makeup and, um, stature. Just minus the hair. And he can do that great Fezzik maneuver on crowds, too.

After the concert, we came to the realization that everything in Milwaukee (except for libations purveyors) pretty much shuts down after midnight. It was intensely frustrating. But there were lemon cookies with our names on them, and many amusing websites to peruse. Someday, we'll get to that Irish-Korean restaurant, I just know it.

Sunday, we had a pleasant breakfast at the Perkins which had closed its doors so unsanctimoniously at midnight the previous evening. And took our leave of friends whom we hope to see more often in the future.

Sunday evening, we had a great time with a friend who we haven't seen enough of lately, either. Which was a great way to cap off a fun weekend.

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle. *looks down* er, "Aunt." *looks down again* Definitely aunt. And no, I don't care how many times you've seen "Fight Club", ain't enough estrogen in the world, my friend.

Anyway, I just found out tonight that my humble little blog prompted some catching up with a much-missed friend! Yeah! That made my day. Hell, it made my week. Well, reading "Naked Empire" made my week... er, how about a tie? I think you can handle being tied with Goodkind, Johann... sure ya can.

Type O will definitely be a good reminder of why Vampire:The Masquerade stuff never works in real life. Picture, if you will, a crowded arena.
A tiny arena.
The Eagles Ballroom.

Thousands of sweaty metalheads, their mullets drenched in beer and unmentionable substances.

Just F'n TRY to obfuscate. Go on, I dare you.

THEY KNOW HAIR FU!

your body twists as you try to dodge the headbanging mulletboys, but THE HAIR KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE.

Stinging tendrils of ick-drenched hair flagellate your tender, pale, basement-dwelling skin.

RULE 47 ON PAGE 142 *DOES NOT APPLY*.

You become weak, dizzy.

You break masquerade when you faint into a pool of beer. Or worse.

See, doesn't work so well.
So I guess I just get to be plain ol' me. Wearing my plain ol' Type O swag.

Johann, looking forward to catching up on the Mother Confessor and the Truth Seeker, and having a snicker about Rikka in that pink dress. *smirk*

Ta all, have a good one. And remember,

...There's NO place like home.

Okay, so maybe you didn't find out so quick about the Woohoo thing.

Belnick and I took a two-week vacation to the Eastern Seaboard, to do everything geeky we could think of, and a few other things besides. It was a wonderful experience, and brought us even closer together, if such a thing is actually possible.

Yesterday was our 10-year dating anniversary. Which might seem an odd thing to celebrate, but what the hell. Why not? We celebrated with Lara Croft and a whole lotta big-screen fun. Who woulda thunk a Big Summer Movie(tm) would have Tuvan throatsinging in the soundtrack? Not I, certainly. Enjoyed it thoroughly, though.

We're looking forward to having dinner with a dear friend tomorrow evening, and then Saturday it's Heavy Metal Mania for the two homebodies. Yeah, the two that looked like someone's parents at the last Ozzfest, you know the type. Well, we can't be kids forever, and Peter Pan isn't really a terribly interesting person after a while. Gimme someone with character.

Speaking of Character, read the newest Goodkind novel... Naked Empire. Hella good. I highly recommend it.

Hopefully, I will update again soon. Time to get Belnick home for tea and video games.

ps. Catharsis, I will try REEEEEALLY hard to update this more often. Sorry I've been so putzy at it.
