Yeah. Timely updating of the old blog, that's what I'm all about. Gonna start making glass sculpture this week, pretty jazzed about that. Top ten reasons I love sculpture. 10) Fire. Fire fire. Heh. HhehhhehheehehehHEHEHEHHEHEHHEhehhehhehhehhhh. Fire. 9) Welding is cool. Well, hot really, but you know what I mean. 8) Metal has a certain amount of permanence that, say, twigs do not. (although that never bothered Andrew Goldsworthy) 7) The process is as much fun as the result. 6) You get to hum the "Junkyard Wars" theme and run around junkyards looking for stuff to make into Art. 5) It's the hardest job you'll ever love. 4) You can play "Flashdance" with the eyewash/shower station, if you're daring. 3) The material has a soul all its own, no matter what material it happens to be. Sculpture brings the soul out to be seen by others. This is the work of the artist. 2) "Furniture" can be classified as sculpture. I just think that rocks. 1) I have the most awesome professor. :) Ciao. |
