Spring has sprung, and so have the weeds. If only all plants were desirable, then there would be no such thing as weeds and they could all live in harmony. Alas, some plants (aka weeds) are greedy and take all the soil's nutrients and choke out the other plants. Sounds like a certain government I could think of.

Time to do some weeding on a scale that I can manage. Grassroots, anyone?

I'd like a word.

I can use it to start a collection of them.

Rather, for Thor.

Sweater... out of danger?

Yes, Spock, you saved the slipped stitch.

There's always room for Jello.
Indeed, perhaps the perfect metaphor. More on this later.

Monday evening's festivities were lovely, and I was given perhaps the most unique chessboard ever, which was handmade by my sister and her boyfriend from some squares from a mural on a demolished part of the Fine Arts building. It is THE COOLEST. I mean that.

I have read my friend's blog, and I feel tiny and insignifcant in the shadow of his blogging glory. Loofa, you just rock. Plus, you make a pleasing page. I feel like the student at the foot of the master. Or something. Like a big, Pythonesque foot squishing me in my antlike inferiority. But really, I have self esteem. It's in here somewhere. :) Really makes me realize that I should do a bit of practice before starting my web job, y'know?

I'm working on the neckband of the Ikea-riffic sweater. After that is complete, all I will need to do is pattern the tops of the sleeves, bind 'em off (Bind of loosely, don't let go... if you bind too tightly, you will lose control!) and then stitch them to the body of the bastid. Then I can wear the Purple sweater from hell! Now all I need to do is knit myself a red hat, and I'll be ready for my next birthday.

'Twas an enjoyable St. Patty's, don't ya know. Had Shepherd's pie with dad up Wausau way. And enjoyed a bit of Celtic music to go with it.

*tips the hat to ya*

Bottom o' the Evenin' to y'all.

Well, one more year entered into the books. And such a year, Oy!

Thor and I had a great Friday and Saturday hanging out together and doing various birthday-related things. And tonight is the big Hibachi fun with my folks, sis and her guy :) Should be a blast.

Hopefully soon we can bake a cheesecake and take it down to the in-laws'.

Not a whole lot to say today, just that it was a good weekend and a great birthday.

Back to the kitchen :)
